International Congress: Progress in Biogas II

The international congress aimed at showing the development, state of technology and economy of biogas production worldwide. Practitioners, engineers, scientists and politicians did present and discuss the developments in the fields of process engineering, political/ social frameworks and utilisation of the fermentation products. Exemplary practical experiences confirmed the positive developments in this fast developing field of technology and showed the business possibilities.

Exkursions/Field Trips:

    Field Trip to biogas projects in agriculture:
  • Biogas plant for digesting energy crops with gas injection into the grid

  • Biogas plant for digesting energy crops with refrigeration

  • Biogas plant for digesting of residues from food processing and canteens

 

    Field Trip to biogas projects in research:
  • Research biogas plant at the research station „Unterer Lindenhof“ of the University of Hohenheim

  • Research sewage treatment plant of the Institute for Sanitary Engineering, Water Quality and Solid Waste Management at the University of Stuttgart

  • Dry fermentation plant for digesting of municipal organic waste

 

Lunch is organised through IBBK, but has to be paid by every participant individually.
The trips start and end at the University of Hohenheim, the exact start point will be announced during the congress.
The preliminary schedule is from 08:00 am to 06:00 pm. Through organisational reasons or traffic constraints time of departure and of arrival is subject to change. We request to consider this particularly with regards to planning of your departure from Stuttgart.
